Parents

rose2

Our parents were once children too

They chewed their toe nails and sucked on their fingers

They played in mud and made messes everywhere

They were picked on and teased in school and at home

Our parents were once children too

They had dreams of their own and great expectations

They were vulnerable, impressionable and longed for approval

The world was so big, sometimes scary and cruel

Our parents were once children too

They had wounds as children that were left untreated

They have been crippled by their untreated wounds

They need your understanding and care

Our parents were once children too
